How to Fill in Your Brows

Hey guys hope you are well! Today I wanted to share some of my quick tips for achieve beautiful brows. I have come to realise that eyebrows are a very personal thing, and everyone prefers their eyebrows looking a certain way. Where one style of brow may suit one person, another may suit someone else. However, hopefully these simple basic tips will help you if you are struggling to fill them in.

Remove Stray Hairs
Using a tweezer, tweeze away stray hairs below and above your natural eyebrow, including the hairs between your two brows. Be careful not to overpluck.

Underline Your Brow
Using an eyebrow pencil to begin with, follow the bottom shape of your eyebrow and create a line underneath your eyebrow. Using light soft strokes will ensure it looks as natural as possible.

Shaping the Brow
Placing your eyebrow brush vertically on the side of your nose and following this point up we can visualise where our eyebrow should start. If you feel this method isn’t helping you gauge where the eyebrow should start, use your tear duct (or a little bit inwards) as a general starting point. Next, make a light mark to track where the eyebrow should start so you can remove any hair in the mono-brow area. To find the end of your brow, place the eyebrow brush on a diagonal starting from the outside corner of your nostril extending towards the brow bone-this is where your eyebrow should stop. Again, make a mark and remove any hair after this point. Finally to find the arch, take the eyebrow brush again and starting from the outside corner of your nostril, to the outside of your iris (aka the coloured part of your eye) make a point at the top of your eyebrow and this is where your arch should be.

Filling in the Brows
First select an eyebrow powder that is similar to your hair colour. The general rule of thumb is blondes should have eyebrows 1-2 shades darker than their hair colour whereas brunettes should have 1-2 lighter than their hair colour, however use a colour that you prefer and makes your brows look natural. Next taking the powder on an eyebrow brush, tap off the excess and slowly, using small brush strokes starting filling in your brows. When filling in, consider the direction of your hair growth and try follow it.

Brush out the Colour
To finish, take a spoolie brush and run this through your brows to ensure all hairs are pointing the correct way and it looks nice and natural looking. If the brows are too light for your taste, just add more powder until you create the look you want- however remember it is easier to add more than to take away. To keep my brows in place, I will using a brow setting formula and run this through my brows to ensure they stay all day.

Until next time beauties,
