How to Conceal Spots

Everyone has days where their skin looks flawless and they look amazing: but today is sadly not one of those days for me. When life gets stressful, this definitely shows on my skin. Waking up this morning I was greeted by gross red blotchy spots on my face, which inspired me to make this blog post. Sometimes, it can be difficult to cover up blemishes with just a plain foundation, however using the correct concealer and using some of my steps below will help make a bad skin day better.

Before I apply any sort of make-up to my face, I will ensure that I properly scrub my face to help get rid of any dirt and oil that could be contributing towards my nasty spots! I like to use a face wash that is tailored towards breakouts when my skin is looking particularly bad, but feel free to use your regular face wash. As usual I will then pop on my moisturiser with clean hands and rub into my face.

When my spots are extra red, I will use a green tinted concealer which will help neutralise the colour of my red spots. Just pop a thin layer of this over the spot before you apply your foundation, ensuring you blend out the edges properly.

Next I will go over the spots with a regular concealer. Applying a thin layer and building up coverage over the spots is a good way to help cover the blemishes. Instead of opting for a translucent powder, depending on how bad my skin is, I will use a powder foundation to really help give me a flawless coverage.

When I am having a bad skin day, I will pay particularly close attention to either making my eye makeup more intense or my lip colour bolder. This will draw attention to either the eyes or lips and make people focus on these areas instead of your spots.

And there you go my quick tips on how to erase those pesky spots! Using some witch hazel on your spots at night will help them disappear and this is a trick I do like to stick by! Let me know your tricks for combatting bad skin days in the comments below.

Until next time beauties,
